About Pressing Stories
Pressing Stories exists to promote innovative content in both fiction and non-fiction writing that’s humanist, kind, funny, optimistic, neurodiversity inclusive, and solution-focused. Our world—this beautiful, constantly evolving planet and every living being on it—needs those courageous traits emphasized now. To that end, Pressing Stories is not a venue for anyone who wants books and movies to glorify violence, old, busted notions about women (or men), cherry-picked history designed to keep people apart, scapegoating or “monstering,” or the decimation of Earth and its animal kingdom.
P.S. Life is hard enough. Enjoy what you put in your head.

Meet Lanie Lanowitz
It’s been a nine-lives life for award-winning writer Lanie Lanowitz (the fiction-writing pen name for Joanna Johnson, attorney). She has a history with lions—actual Great Cats as well as gifted humans who run government agencies, conserve natural resources, and make movies. Raised in Chicagoland, she cut her teeth in Washington, DC, and works with colleagues in every state, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Her motto is "we are better together," although it's a real mouthful in Gaelic. Her passion is writing healthy, hilarious stories that transform the worst into wisdom. She occasionally veers into thrillers when suspense is the best way to get a point across.
